A biblical solution to recovery
There is no such thing as a "Christ-centered" or "Christian" twelve-step recovery program.
If steps were needed to overcome sin they would be in the Bible.
Instead, we have the perfect gospel of Jesus Christ,
through the authority and sufficiency of scripture,
by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Gospel of jesus christ
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes...Romans 1:16
“The gospel is so strong a light, and carries with it so much of its own evidence, that, like a city on a hill, it cannot be hid, it cannot but appear to be from God.” - Matthew Henry

The Holiness of God
The Bible tells us that God is holy, meaning He is sinless, is unable to sin, and He is completely perfect. Only God alone possesses the quality of holiness.
In the year of King Uzziah's death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called out to another and said, "Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory." - Isaiah 6:1-3
[Your] eyes are too pure to approve evil, And You can not look on wickedness [with favor.] - Habakkuk 1:13
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; No evil dwells with You. - Psalm 5:4

The Heart of Man
"For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting [and] wickedness, [as well as] deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride [and] foolishness. "All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man." - Mark 7:21-23
On what can you blame your sin and depravity? Can you blame it on your environment? Can you blame it on Satan and demonic influence? Can you blame it on disease and disorder? In modern society, and in much of the modern Church, it is common to blame sinful behaviors on all of the above. But, according to God’s word, your sin is the fruit of your own sinful nature and desire. Sin manifests in people in many ways; some people drink and do drugs, some people lie, some steal, some envy and covet, some people are slothful and gluttonous. Regardless of the sin, it all begins with sinful human desire.
But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. - James 1:14

No One is Righteous
as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one." - Romans 3:10-12
We are all sinners, void of righteousness. This is the truth of every human regardless of how good someone may seem according to human standards. God's standard is perfection according to His law.

All Have Sinned
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, - Romans 3:23
Consider the ten commandments - have you lied, stolen, coveted, lusted, committed adultery, taken the Lord's name in vain, idolized, etc...? To break one of God's commands is to have transgressed His law.
For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it. - James 2:10

The Sinful Desire of Man
Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. - James 1:13-15
The human heart IS sinful desire. Our sin is the fruit of our heart's desire. It is not the fault of anything outside ourselves or the influence of demonic forces. Our desire is what lures and entices us.

We are Born in Sin
Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned. - Romans 5:12
We are Born in Sin. Sin is Human Nature.
Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment. Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. - Psalm 51:4-5

The Wages of Sin is Death
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 6:23
The wages of sin is death. A sinner's just punishment is death and eternal suffering for sinning against a holy, just and eternal God.
But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We cannot pay the terrible debt that we owe to God because of our sin. How does a finite sinful creature atone for transgressing the law of an infinite and holy God? It is an impossible dilemma.
But God gave believers the ultimate gift - forgiveness and eternal life in Jesus Christ.

The Love and Mercy of God
but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8
An undeserved and unearned gift - Christ died for us while we were still sinners and in rebellion against Him.
Because we are dead in sin we cannot seek God or come to Him. He raises us from the dead to eternal life in Jesus Christ.
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved-- - Ephesians 2:4-5

Call on the Name of Jesus Christ
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” - Romans 10:13
When the Holy Spirit raises us from the dead, opens our eyes to the truth of the gospel, brings us to believe, and we call on the name of the Lord, repent of our sins, and trust in Christ, He will save us from the wrath of God that will be poured out on all unrighteousness. Having no righteousness of our own, we stand in the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

Repent and Trust in Jesus Christ
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” - Mark 1:15
Regardless of what we've done, how sinful our life has been, if we truly repent of our sins and trust in Jesus Christ we will be saved in Him.

Confess and Believe
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. - Romans 10:9-10
Not a casual acknowledgment of Jesus Christ or a mindless and emotional sinners prayer, but genuine belief from a contrite heart. A transformation in which the human desire for sin is replaced with hatred for sin and a consuming desire for Christ and His righteousness.
And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. - Ezekiel 36:26-27

Peace with God
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. - Romans 5:1
Why do people suffer in this life? Why so much misery, strife, depression, addiction, and anxiety? Because there is no peace with God. All the fame and fortune in the world cannot provide true and lasting peace. The only way to have peace with God is through Jesus Christ.

No Longer Condemned
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. - Romans 8:1
Because of sin all are guilty and condemned before God. But when we are made alive, repent of our sin, and place our trust in Jesus Christ we are freed from condemnation. Christ endured the punishment for our sin, He paid the debt we could not pay.
And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. - Colossians 2:13-14

Eternally Secure in Jesus Christ
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:37-39
Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. - John 6:37
Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Follow Jesus Christ and live for Him!
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:20
